In reviewing my reviews, it appears that I have been slighting the Flamingo in favor of some other clubs. Although I'm "down the Block" fairly regularly and visit most of the clubs occasionally, I guess I actually spend time and money at only a few. The Flamingo has been low on my list for a year or so, and it still seems a bit run down - both the club and the dancers - since the former owner died. However, it's one of the clubs that seems to attract a lot of dancers who have been around for a while and a lot of patrons who appreciate what that means - predictable entertainment value, minimal bullshit in discovery and negotiation, and the possibility of a low-risk good time. I spent some time in the VIP with Macy a few weeks ago and we had a great time.

The staff will typically offer a couple of VIP options - $140 for a half hour in the small, cramped, room off the ladies room and $200 for an extended visit in one of the more upscale rooms in the former back bar. On a slow day you may be able to negotiate the better room for the lower price - nothing to lose by suggesting it.

One of the most notable aspects recently has ben the tendency of the dance staff toward age and obesity. Not my thing, but there is usually a balance of younger and less bouyant - though seldom knock-out beautiful - women to sweeten the pot. YMMV in that department...
