I stopped into Cruisin' Chubbys on...

I stopped into Cruisin' Chubbys on my way to St Paul; it was a nice break and not too far from the highway. I was greeted at the door by a polite, well dressed greeter. He answered a few questions smoothly and pointed out a few drink girls circulating who could get me a beverage. The club was decorated like a Northwoods lodge, but it was nicely done and well lit. They had a nice big thrust stage with 3 different dancing areas with poles and a large tip rail. Tables a bit further out.

Most people seemed to be sitting at the tip rail, so that's where I went too. Drink girl came by and I ordered a diet coke and got a nice big glass for $3, not a rip off for a change. There were two girls on stage at a time, floating on stage, then over to the next area and then off. Seemed like 2-3 song sets, and I couldn't understand a word the announcer was saying because he was eating the mic. I saw a few 7-8s on stage, but also a few girls I did not care for. They do one song topless and then one nude, usually from what I saw. Some of the girls did not do nude and only teased a bit. Others went full nude with legs spread, it just depended on the girl, I guess. The girls would do a little strip and then start going to each guy at the tip rail in order. She'd give a little attention (Stevies) and then expect a tip. Most places I have been to the guy will show his interest, then the girl will come over and he tips. Here it seemed expected that if you are sitting at the rail you will get hit up once per song, whether you like her or not. I was okay with this though, as for the most part the girls were good looking and friendly at the rail.

I was interested in the private dances, but wasn't really approached much. I didn't see many girls circulating at all. Prices for private dances were high too. $20 per song upstairs topless or $40 nude downstairs. Or pay for "champaign room". The girl I asked right before I left would not do upstairs and I didn't want to drop $40 per song, so I just left. However, I was pretty happy because the stage action was fun.
