Other fellas have said it plenty...
Other fellas have said it plenty times, but still gotta say - the whole "back stage" vs. "stage door" Johnny's gimmick is kinda lame. Each club is about half the size of a normal club - they try to pitch the 2-fer bracelet or whatever, and act like one is so much better than the other, but only together do they make up a halfway decent place. Backstage I think is the part that has a nice bar and pool tables, a decent place to hang out. Surprised that on a Saturday night, close to midnight, the place wasn't packed, and very few dancers around.
On the other side, Stage Door I think, is a small-ish typical strip scene, with a stage and pole, about 20 chairs all around it, and some photo booth type sections for private lap dances. There were about 10 dudes in the place, several of them blasted drunk, and therefore loud and sloppy, which is just plain annoying. Here again there were only a few girls, nothing to write home about, and even at that they were pretty busy with the regulars and locals buying their time.
The saving grace for the joint was the feature dancer. I forget her name, but she was fun! She gave a great, though typical show - nice dances strip-down, then using whip cream, chocolate, and even bananas on the nice parts. The highlight though was that after her show, she went and showered, and came out to do some lap dances. They were pricier than the standard dances (I think like $30-$40 each), but she really knew what she was doing, and it was cool to get some private time with the lovely lady who was kind of a "celebrity." So I'd recommend a visit when there's a feature dancer performing. Otherwise, it's really just a place that's in town in New Haven, where you can sit, have a beer, and watch a little silicone bounce.
