The Pony is a good club...

The Pony is a good club to party at, but regulations have significantly decreased value since I was last here in 2009. The cover charge is $15 and includes your first two beers. Your first beer is given to you at the counter and a small paper ticket is handed to you in order to claim your second beer inside the club. The club itself is about as close to Las Vegas-style as you are going to get in this part of the country. The inside of The Pony has a large sixty-foot long stage taking up the center of the club that has three dance stations. There is a small satellite stage on both the west and east walls. There are five dancers performing at a time on weekend evenings. The waitresses here are piranhas, constantly trying to get you to buy another drink, especially if you sit a short walk from the bar. Other staff I interacted with offered very poor customer service. The DJ was tolerable but the music volume was not. The air was very carcinogenic.

About 50% of the girls were desirable in my opinion, but there were definitely some entertainers that were below a 7. None of the girls were giving contact for stage tips. You could put the money in their g-string or garter band, but that was about it. Two years ago, stage contact was standard. New regulations have obviously taken effect. Dancers will ask for dancers but generally do not sit and talk with patrons. Then again, the music is too loud to converse. The dance price is $40, but negotiating could drop that price. The dances are done on benches along a corridor on the west side of the club. The “booths” have partitions on the sides, but people passing through the corridor could see what is going on. The songs are short, and the contact is more or less two-way. Dancers were skittish about pushing the envelope. Every time I go here there seems to be a bachelor party. The bachelor gets on stage, has his shirt pulled off and is humiliated by a dozen strippers in front of the crowd. If in the area, I’d return to this club for the party atmosphere, but the low value at The Pony does not tempt me to spend big here.
