It's the week AFTER Mardi Gras...
It's the week AFTER Mardi Gras here in New Orleans but the tourists haven't all left. Penthouse scheduled this week for the "Golden G String" awards. I should have stayed home. For the price of entry (standard $11 cover charge as any other week) I got to see a Pocahontas-act complete with flaming candles, kiddie-pool, feathers, leaves, and choreography. All the hot-looking regular dancers who were not competing for this award sat around glumly, required not to interrupt the stage act. All the patrons were staring at the stage act, rather much resembling the audience at a movie theater. The girl on stage was lithe, supple, young, and utterly sexless. She smiled that big ol' Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader toothy grin and bounced around like a high-school cheerleader with her high-school cheerleader's body, yet entirely failed to turn me (or, I suspect, anyone else who had ever been to a real strip club before) on. I got my complimentary (smaller than usual) cocktail, drank, chatted a bit, tried to find my way to some of the hotter girls, wondered why I was here, and then left. Don't go to Penthouse during the awards thing, it's guaranteed to be all about a poorly done Broadway choreography number, and nothing about hot chicks and your own hotness for them. For this review, I gave low marks for "club" and "dancer" not because of the quality in looks, but because of the lack of access.
