I was in the area so I stopped by on a Saturday night. It was the first time I had been to Sonny's. It was so crowded i had to sit at the bar for 10 - 15 minutes before a seat at a table opened up. I an new to Phoenix and i have spent most of my time at Bourbon Street. this is definitely a different place than Bourbon Street. I think the quality of the dancers here are much more average. It is a bit hard to notice at first, but after talking to one of the dancers, she pointed out the VIP area. It is pretty secluded if no one else is there at the time. Apparently they have another VIP area that is more private and more than one dancer alluded to the fact that "anything goes" there, but I am not sure how true that is. My first VIP was with a dancer who says she doesn't do 30 min VIP dances. Kind of a bummer as I figured she wasn't open to a high mileage dance. That was definitely the case. I got my second VIP from a slightly foreign sounding dancer that was really working the floor. This dance was slightly higher mileage, but again nothing I haven't gotten regularly at Bourbon Street from hotter chicks, and you don't have to pay for 4 songs at a shot.
