Made my second visit to the Deja Vu on Commerce St in LA recently on a Friday night after dinner with friends in Little Tokyo. The first time, about 6 months ago, I only had a few minutes to check it out and didn't take any dances. I wasn't overly impressed with the dancers, but wanted to give it another try.
It is easy to find online ads, LA Weekly or business cards in the DT area that offer free admission, free valet parking and free drinks. The parking garage seems new, is well lit and secure and the valet was friendly. As mentioned by others, free isn't really quite free - they charged a $10 entertainment fee at the door - but as the doorman pointed out, it does say the entertainment fee is not included on the card. They asked us to sign in, but no IDs and any name (e.g., "John") was fine.
Once inside, 2-3 girls converged and chatted a bit, asked if we'd like a dance, etc. No pressure, and when we said not now one showed us to a table. Consistent with its recent opening, the club was clean and new looking. One stage, chairs around the lip, small tables with 2-3 chairs circling the stage, and booths behind that. Only was asked if we wanted something to drink once - only sodas and juices as a nude bar. We didn't, and again, we felt no pressure.
