I was told at Ocean's Cabaret...

I was told at Ocean's Cabaret in Galveston not to go to Whispers, because it's populated by low-brow women who only want to take guys upstairs to the $40 VIP room for BJs. Of course, I had to go straight there after I left Oceans (see separate review).

I did remember reading the previous poster's "hole in the wall" comment, but in all fairness, Whispers is nicer than that. Perhaps I had my sights set low, but overall, I was rather impressed with the club. It's nothing fancy, but is large, with comfy chairs, and a couple relatively secluded lapdance areas. They open at 8pm on Saturday, and I'd just gotten there shortly before then (just walked in - no cover). A Latina dancer was sitting near the entrance, just hanging out apparently until the club opened. She was friendly and welcoming, and since it's an alcohol club, I bought us both a couple of beers (standard SC prices) and commenced with a half-hour of pleasant conversation - no pressure and no SS. After we finished our beers, the club had officially opened and so we headed off to one of the lapdance areas.

She gave a spirited dance, with plenty of stick shifting, boob grabbing/sucking, quality grinding, and some encouragement to reach inside her thong to check the oil. Overall, not a bad value at $20 per.
