I've always liked the Sands -- funky atmosphere, low-key attitude, no annoying DJ etc. And for awhile, it was the best value in town -- no cover, two drink minimum ($8 total) and $40 high mileage VIP dances. Now that Ricks has improved their VIP room, the Sands just isn't the deal it once was. There are some favorite dancers there -- Jamie and Heidi are great, although I've noticed Heidi now works at Ricks as well. But the Sands needs to upgrade its dancer pool and fix up the place if it's going to compete with a now vastly superior Ricks. If you do go, don't go late at night -- early to mid-afternoon Friday thru Sunday is the best time to go.
