A couple of visits found Anthony’s...
A couple of visits found Anthony’s not up to their usually high standard. Tuesday night (11/23) there were only a few more customers than dancers. With 3 girls on stage, dollar dances were easy to obtain and generous, but the half-dozen or so girls off stage at any given time seemed, for the most part, to be invisible or obviously unavailable for PDs. The two most attractive dancers (IMHO) spent their off-stage time playing a computer game with their backs to the customers. They’re entitled, of course, but when one was later overheard complaining that she “wasn’t making any money tonight,” I started to wonder. You gotta look interested ... Usually Anthony’s manages to strike the right balance between high pressure and ignoring where the money comes from. This wasn’t the night.
Friday, on the other hand, every seat was full at 8:00, and there weren’t enough dancers to go around. Dull crowd, too, and the DJ’s witless attempts to stir ‘em up had little effect. (What is to be gained by trying to get people to shout “fuck you” in unison? Dumb.) Stage dancers didn’t circulate enough, and it was literally impossible to get anyone’s attention for a PD.
Good mix of girls on both nights, although the median age seems to have gone up. I had a really great time here on several visits a couple of months back. I hope that this week’s experience was just bad luck, and not an indication that the quality is slipping again. Consistency hasn’t always been their strong suit.
