Usually, the Plaza is not my favorite Block bar when business brings me to Baltimore. But this time, I was in a kind of bottom-feeder mood, and wandered in to see what the atmosphere was like. Lo and behold, there were a couple of better looking Blockettes that I had seen on this night's wanderings, so I went to the bar and ordered a beer. A few minutes later a late 20s blonde (always a little hard to guess age accurately on the Block) came up and introduced herself to me with a warm Block handshake, and we got to know each other over a small drink. Much better than usual over a small drink. Well enough that she convinced me to buy her a larger drink, and we wandered off to a darker corner of the bar, and I ended up leaving later than I intended and happier than I had dared hope. Still, YMMV, and probably will on a night to night basis.
