this was my first trip to the pony. went to showcase and visions and they along with fantasia are huntsville mainstays. decided to give the pony a try. i like both showcase and fantasia because of the close proximity, cold beer and pretty women. i am willing to travel to fantasia, due to the fact that despite putting the mileage on my car mileage elsewhere is recouped. back to the pony review. first thing that comes to mind is the saying, "all glitz and no glamour". i personally don't need the glitz, nor the glamour. club owners sometimes forget what patrons want. i don't want to speak for all, but, i believe cold reasonably priced beer, along with attractive friendly dancers are the recipe for a good club. the pony has a "club-like" feel, with strobe lights, lasers and smoke. these features tries hard to make up for lack of attractive and friendly dancers. to add to the "hunts-vegas" feel, they have a super-annoying dj. the dj should just spin the music and introduce the rotation, period. i don't need to hear that the dancers work soley for tips. if the dj/club was so concerned, they should pay the dancers. oh wait, they have to pay for the pretty lights. despite it not being my "cup of tea", i would probably give it another shot...
