Having never been to a Deja...
Having never been to a Deja Vu I had no idea what to expect, but when arriving at 7:30pm I was surprised to find I was the only customer. The guy at the door told me I could take off and come back later "when there is more going on." The cover was $5 then I had to pay for a $9 bottomless drink, which, if you choose water, is not bottomless and you have to pay $9 for each bottle.
I left and came back at 9:30 and there were about 8 customers and maybe 6-8 dancers. After almost every set the DJ announced 3 for 1 or 2 for 1 special. 3 dances for $20. The dances are done in couches around the sides of the room, basically out in the open. You wait for at least a song while the waitresses set in to try to get you to buy drinks for the dancers. Tried with 4 girls and every dance was mechanical and boring. A couple of girls implied that the $60/dance songs upstairs were much better, but I have to have a more enjoyable first dance to take you up on that.
I was there for a total of 3 hours and have to say that I do not see myself going back.
