I visited the newly-renovated Landing Strip...

I visited the newly-renovated Landing Strip on a summer Sunday night. The new owners have done a great job with the club. It's clean, and well-lighted for a strip club: you can even read the promotional materials they leave on the tables. The lap dance area is redone with big squashy chairs separated by cubicle-style walls. This provides some welcome privacy (or the illusion thereof), but I must admit that my first thought was of a Dilbert-style office: which I'm sure was not the intention! One minor annoyance: the booths on the main floor are $20 each. It's only a minor annoyance because I was by myself and didn't want to take up a whole booth anyway, and at least they tell you the price up front.

Lap dances are still 2-way contact except the kitty; mileage still varies, but somewhat less than a few years ago. I wasn't offered extras, but didn't want them, so didn't mind. Another plus: the songs are at least 4 minutes, in stark contrast to the LS's (geographically) nearest competitor. Clearly, the new ownership is getting a lot of things right.

There's only one thing lacking to make a top-quality club: top-quality dancers. The club's web site advertises prominently for dancers, with good reason. (When a club's marquee advertises "New Girls," you know that the current talent wasn't bringing people back.) On my last Sunday night visit 3 years ago, I met Amanda, who is still as close to a perfect 10 as any girl I've ever seen. This time, there was no one even in her league. If you like the wide, jiggly caboose, or if you want lots of tattoos, there was a lot to choose from; if you don't, there was only one girl there for you. Luckily for me, she was both pretty (I'd give her an 8) and nice, so my visit was quite enjoyable: I would consider returning just for her.
