I went to Augie's a few days ago. Boy! was it an experience to remember. I had read about the club online and on Tusci, and kind of knew what to expect. It was just like I expected, and then some. I visited on a Saturday night. I walked in ($10 entry) and found a long narrow room with a stage on one side and a bar on the other, with a few tables and chairs scattered in between. To sum up the club, there's just one word I can use - 'black.' I'm not black, and when I walked in I almost ran out. The dancers and most of the customers were black. There was loud rap music playing with rap videos on TV screens. I felt like a misfit in there and for some time felt uneasy. Then I noticed there were a lot of women there, made me feel safer. The dancers were mediocre but two were very friendly. I had a soda. Gradually I settled into the mood of the club and started enjoying myself. Overall had a good time with the club and the atmosphere.
