I have been stopping by the Gold Club in Baton Rouge every two or three months for the last 3 years, when I am in town on business. I tend to end up there on Tuesday or Wednesday night, when it is typically slower. I agree with some of the other reviews, that the interior is a bit tired, but last time I was in there I heard that a fairly major renovation was coming in the next few months. At any rate, on to the details:

My favorite thing about the Gold Club is that I never feel hussled. Sure, there are a few dancers who are a bit pushy, but the vast majority are laid back, willing to sit and talk for a few songs, just to hang out. Admittedly, I do tip them for their time, so that might be part of it, but they always seemed surprised that I would tip them just for chatting. The overall quality of the dancers I think is quite high, there are many very lovely girls, although the actual stage dancing skill level varies quite widely. There are a few girls who will do some pretty solid pole tricks, but most of the girls prefer to just wiggle back and forth. No matter, as I said, virtually all of the girls in there are quite attractive.

For some reason, the Gold Club seems to have a large number of ridiculously pretty and energetic shot girls, and those are some of the best dances in the place (both for value and for energy). The dancers lap dances vary quite a bit, although I have certainly never had the "air lap dance" issue. This might just be me, but I am very hands off during a dance, which actually tends to result in the dancer giving more contact (in legal ways, I have never had anything illegal happen at this club). A terrible experiment 8 months ago or so resulted in lap dances only happening in VIP, but now the management allows them on the main floor again. Typical cost is ~ $20+tip, but at least to me the dancers always seem willing to dance for another song, or sit and chat a while longer. Again, this might be the result of normally ending up there on slower nights of the week.
