This was my first visit to...
This was my first visit to a Scores. With Bourbon Street kind of dead, there was no cover but a mandatory drink purchase in effect. The inside has an upscale appearance. There is a one-pole main stage in the front and a long stage in the back of the establishment with three poles. There was only about twenty patrons, so only the front stage was operating. Dancers did two song sets, the second of which was topless. Drinks were pricey, shots were $12. Ouch. The music was mostly rock and pop, with some hip hop too. From reading previous reviews, I thought Scores was a little overglorified what what it really is.
Being the slow season in the Big Easy, there were only six dancers. The dancers here were beautiful girl-next-door types. All were 6-10's. All were white, except for one black girl. Virtually all of the girls are heavily inked--big tramp stamps, sleeves, etc. There seems to be a tattoo addiction among NOLA strippers. Some of the girls had rather poor polework, while others could win poledance competitions. Lapdances are $40 a pop or 3/$100, plus tip. You must prepay. The price is a bit steep but the dancers encourage touching. Lapdances take place upstairs in a large room ringed by couches. Chances are you'll be in there while other patrons are getting lappers on adjacent couches, so no privacy. The VIP rooms are $300 for a half hour and $600 for an hour. Overall, I had fun and would come back even despite the "Scores hype" and price inflation.
