I was passing through Rockford and...

I was passing through Rockford and saw this was the highest-rated club in town -- much higher, even, than State Street Station, where I went the last time I passed through (and had a great time). This, however, wasn't exactly my cup o'tea.

The club was on a corner and appeared in decent shape. Blacklighting was prevalent and the girls were up on a stage. I only had a beer ($4). The guy at the front door didn't charge me a cover and only checked my ID. I mentioned the club's website said you could mention it and get free VIP admission. He laughed and said, "I don't think anyone's touched that site for a couple years." Interesting.

Got my beer and sat down. The DJ looked and sounded like she was normally a dancer and played the music at a reasonable level. Kind of the same-old story: Dancers were alright, including one particularly long-haired blond I rather liked. More African American girls than I expected (not my taste, but that's just me). I had read that the regulars got most of the attention here, so I made a point to tip the blond, hoping that would provide the impetus for her to come back to see me. Nope.
