This was a surprisingly good visit, particularly for a weekday afternoon on the way out of town. A hole in the wall, just-barely-inside-the-city-limit type of place. When I first passed it there were two or three dancers sitting outside, presumably trying to gin up business, a sure sign they needed it. But these were no young girls: these were the seasoned pros, women who have been using their bodies to make a living for twenty years and are approaching the last few years of still being able to turn heads by showing a little skin. They know their craft.
And I'm not talking about over the hill, broken down strippers, either. When I walked in, I was immediately facing a bar full of ladies, all vying for the attention of one guy. This can be a big turn-off, especially if you're stingy with the dollars, but if you're prepared to spend it's a great indicator of the potential of a club experience. The ones at the far end of the bar were oblivious to my presence, and so was the bartender, so I siddled up to a dark headed beauty closest to me and let her know she could keep me company while I waited to order my beer.
THAT caught her attention. Perhaps it was the confidence in my manner, the unfamiliar face, or just the abrupt recognition that she had a business opportunity right in front of her. But there's nothing sexier than watching a woman put on the face she's going to use to try and play you, and I could immediately see her mind start to sort through the intricacies of working her will. Sunshine is stripper in her early 40s, still endowed with a body that keeps your attention but a veteran of the strip and like any veteran, a little worn out from the fight. As she responded to my overture, the bartender sensed what was going on and had the good sense to help out the team and come over to take my order. Nice rack, too, with plenty of ink.
