A way I've always spun VIP negotiations is to not bluntly ask if she can do a lower price but to say something like "I would really love to, but I only brought $X.00..." (I usually keep the suggested price reasonable-ish, if $300 just say you only have $200) I always get a yes because she knows if she passes it up someone else will get that money.
