The best club outside of Metro Detroit in Michigan.
I'm a frequenter of the Lansing Deja Vu when I'm in town on business, and this club is by far the best establishment outside the Detroit area in my opinion. There's an opinion out there that DJV's are too corporate -- McStripClubs if you will -- but I find that the Lansing Vu does the best that they can without violating their corporate policies to make regulars feel welcome, and let the club mentality triumph over the corporate stuff. The club is well maintained, clean, with helpful staff, and I've always felt comfortable there in the parking lot. They shoo away the rifraf, and you're a client from the moment you're on the property.
The quality of dancers varies greatly based on the time that you go, so I'd advise that you keep that in mind when deciding when and if to make a trip. The club's prime times -- as expected -- are Thursday through Saturday nights. On those evenings, the pros are that the best looking women are in house, they have the most stages going, and Thursday is an amateur night -- FUN! The cons? You're not gonna get a girl to sit with you and chat on those nights unless you've built a relationship. They're scanning the room, and looking for cash. If you're a regular -- and I have some ATFs -- you'll get a convo, but that convo comes with the expectation on the night that some fun will be had and some cash paid. Also, the cover/drink charge is north of $10 and can approach $20, and the dance specials aren't that good.
If you're a guy that likes girls that will sit and chat before you spend, or you're looking for some value for cash, it's Sunday (VIP discounts) through Wednesday (dance specials all the time) that should see you take your trip. The day shift girls are also much more inclined to make it a more datelike and less transactionlike experience at the club.
Another tip: Use the tiprail and participate in dollar boob rounds. You can tell a lot about a Vu dancer from her tips. Specifically, what they believe the value of a dollar to be for what you should get, and what their view is on contact. I'd also advise you to tip the waitresses. They can be valuable tools for identifying -- and warning -- about dancers (I've been told certain girls would be a waste so skipped them, only to have people I came with confirm the waitress was right).
One pitfall to avoid. The waitress will ask you if you'd like to buy a lady a drink when you're with one. Do not give the girl a choice, because there isn't one. Dancers are required by policy to say yes. Decline the drink, then tip the dancer. They'll appreciate it.
The club is as diverse as a club could be. All body types -- within reason -- and all ethnicities. There's truly something for everything. What you don't see on the night shift is the hanger on that has spent one too many trips 'round the pole. Those are left to days or asked not to come back.
Some of my favs -- must sees really -- include Catalina (A lansing legend that leaves you smiling), Opal, and Mikayla. I never fail to have a good time with any of this trio, who stay within the rules but understand what a good tease is!
I've done Omars, but never seem to have a good time there, and the further you go west, the more air comes between you and the girl. This isn't a Metro Detroit club by any means, but it's as close as you're gonna get without, um, well.....If you know Metro Detroit, you know what I mean. Mileage means something here, but not what you'll get in the D. If you're in the area though, it's worth the time!
