Beware idiot bouncers
I've been to the Vegas many times over a good many years. Not a regular, but I go when I'm in the area. Over that time, it has had its ups and downs. Tonight looked like a good prospect--crowded parking lot, mid evening. I walked through the door, past the un-manned check-in desk, and it looked like a decent vibe.
And then some jerk that I've never seen before stands in front of me and says "$10 cover." Well, I'm familiar with cover charges, which the Vegas occasionally enforces, to a max of $5 in the past, but more often ignores. They're in the middle of cornfields and I think they're glad for the business. So I asked, "Since when?" Well, this knucklehead was of the brooking-no-dissent variety, and said, "Always". I knew that was bullshit, so I said, "Wrong" and turned around and left. I was prepared to drop a could of C-notes, but his attitude just spoiled the entire vibe, and I was in no mood for some twit to pull that.
I'll go back, perhaps, someday, but probably not soon.
