I was in Philadelphia for the afternoon on business, was hungry, in the mood to see some titties, and maybe get a lap dance so I figured I'd check out this club. Before even going to the club I read the reviews here and I knew that it wasn't going to be cheap - which is totally true.

Granted I showed up around 2:00 pm, but the club was as slow as I would have expected it to be. There were 5-6 dancers on the floor (one was on the stage at all times) and the rest were hanging out around the bar. I would guess that there were 4 other customers in the place when I showed up. I sat down at the bar and was greeted by the bartender, ordered a beer, and ordered one of the club's cheeseburgers (for $12).

While waiting for my food, I sat at the bar and watched various dancers on the stage run through their sets. As I wasn't right next to the stage, I didn't feel compelled to tip that much, but I did get up and drop $5 on the stage for each dancer after she was done with her set.

My food arrived a brief time later and, to my surprise, the burger was actually really good. I made it about 3/4 of the way through my lunch when one of the dancers placed her drink down next to me and started talking to me. I complemented her (and the other dancers) on how much courage it must take to be a stripper and that led into a very interesting conversation. She started to critique the other dancer's and their routines and it was a very interesting glimpse into the world of being a stripper for me. She was about 22 years old and not the hottest stripper in the club, but she was very personable. I honestly had a great conversation with her and found her company very enjoyable. I'm kind of on the nerdy/awkward side and we talked about that and she mentioned her own nerdiness. As the conversation was drawing down, she asked me if I would like a lapdance and I agreed. I warned her again that I usually feel kind of awkward doing these sorts of things and she reassured me that her awkwardness would balance out mind and she led me upstairs to the private booths.

Dances were $30 each for 4 minutes. I ended up getting 6 or 7, but was charged for 5. Dances were "anything goes" up to touching the kitty and she was phenomenal and certainly wasn't awkward at all. By the end of my last dance my phone started to blow up and I really had to leave and get back to work and I had to leave. I know that it is her job, but I had a great time and she really made me feel like I had a connection with her. I regret not getting her name, but if I'm ever back in Philly again, I'll have to visit the club and hopefully see her again.

To me, the Penthouse Club in Philadelphia was a great stop and I completely and absolutely recommend it so long as you aren't on a budget and plan on dropping $2-300 on an afternoon visit. I'll absolutely visit this place again before I even think about stopping by another club in Philly. After Club Super Sex in Montreal (which I haven't been to in nearly 12 years), this is the best strip club and experience I've ever had.
