I'm with you. I'm 43, so not as old as you, but I do think there is (mostly) a generational thing going on. While a hot babe is a hot babe regardless of whether she shaves or not, I much prefer to see some bush. It doesn't have to be out of control, but the babe is just not complete without a landing strip or some pubic hair.
I've followed similar discussions on other boards, and I've observed this: I think that those like me (and oldCALIFORNIAguy) who prefer the bush or at least some pubic hair can also appreciate the shaved look if we have to, if only because that has been the fashion for the past decade or so. However, many of those who prefer the shaved look seem to have ZERO tolerance with any pubic hair at all. Have others observed this? I think it's bizarre, if not unhealthy. Guys, come on, most real women have pubic hair.
Having said that, I get the sense that the trend is swinging back towards some pubic hair, if not the full bush (cf. Sasha Gray). I hope this is a real trend, and it's about time, imo.
