Op-Ed: The US Lost This War
Iran has been threatening us for 50 years. Something should have been done about them years ago but nobody did anything. We certainly wounded them but no matter what they say it will be lies, no matter what they agree to they will cheat. They will be buying time as they have in the past. Unfortunately this is far from over unless the iranian citizens rise up and dispose of their leaders but I don't see that happening.
At least we can move on to something else. What are the odds of economic crash this summer?
I think you mis read the actual headline "Trump finally surrenders to Iran". We have nothing any different before any of our actions started up except another promise to step up to the bargaining table - which won't go anywhere.
Whether this conflict was a success or not totally depends on which News station you are watching. CNN and Fox News are not reporting the same thing.

Trump is the best leader since Reagan & FDR.
Iran's just going to keep walking away from the table each time Trump threatens them, so serious negotiations probably won't happen until he's out of the picture...in a couple years, if he's still in office then.

Prioritizing America: Recognizing that Europe had its own conflicts and interests that were essentially separate from the concerns of the United States.
Guarding against influence: Warning citizens to be on guard against the "insidious wiles of foreign influence", which he viewed as one of the greatest threats to a republican government.
