Cascadas vs. Rizo Cost analysis

Hello fellow mongers. Just got back from a surprisingly expensive trip to Pattaya and, was bored this afternoon. Normally, I come to TJ for weekend trips over Friday and/or Saturday but, after blowing fat stack of cash in Pattaya for a week long stay I began to consider the validity of doing a longer 4 or 5 night stay in TJ and capitalizing on the ol' VIP card discount.

I used a little AI help to make two tables to compare a 4 night vs 5 night stay during the week (Sun night - Wed night and Sun night - Thurs night) w/ consideration for the hotel's respective VIP discounts and the savings they provide. Figured I might upload these here just to save them and, maybe some others out there might find it useful.

Also, if anyone wants to discuss TJ vs. other popular mongering destinations, I'd be interested to hear some other opinions out there.

I appreciate the discussion but highest savings will just simply correlate to the highest cost since the savings is a percent discount applied to that price. You will see the biggest savings with VIP if you rent or the 9th floor for 4 days right?

What I personally find comical is that fully understanding the sunken cost fallacy, I go back to TJ and spend hundreds and hundreds simply to get my $70 value that I spent on a previous trip. I'm really that stupid.... Hehehe. The $70 should have no relevance to the decision to go back yet considering all the costs and expenses yet I find myself going back once or twice within the 3 months VIP use dates.

Oh forgot to mention them when the VIP expires, I could go 4 to 6 months before a visit. Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense yet I still do it...lol

I forget where the heck I saw it but, someone did a spreadsheet that you could use to calculate all of the costs for a trip. It included VIP card, Room, Fichas, Tips, drinks, etc. I'm not convinced that it was super useful but it certainly was entertaining.

@justinyoo That is the single reason they offer the discount card - the psychological effect it has to bring people back far outweighs the admin costs and a side benefit for them is the added traffic on what would be slow days anyways. I’d like love to see their analysis calculations on cost/benefits.

Btw OP your SS misses too many factors to be of any use. The discount card can be used many time in three mths so cost of card is variable. There is no “savings” w/o spending so the fallacy of buying something you don’t need cause it’s on “Sale”. The fact that staying longer in TJ requires spending more on food, drink, sex etc. so that can negatively affect so called savings. Many other factors in a cost of trip analysis are also not accounted for.

I appreciate all the discussion! When it comes down to it, I like TJ a lot and, I'm coming VIP or not with the same hard budget I usually bring. My budget is going to be the same every time. I'm absolutely a degenerate and, I fully intend on blowing absolutely all of my budget on alcohol and pussy. I really just was wanting to get a visual of how much the room actually costs if I were to plan a 4 or 5 day weekday trip. Normally, I just do a little weekend trip TJ between Asia trips.

Thinking about going to TJ for a longer trip instead of Asia this time. I usually get the Master Suite at Rizo but, I was just wondering what the true cost of some of the other rooms were, specifically on a weekday. I thought about maybe about trying a nicer room or just going with single room and spending more money in the club.

I went to Pattaya a couple of weeks ago and, I do enjoy a good go-go bar. I noticed this time some of my go-to places had almost tripled their bar fines. Of course, you can go to the Gentlemen's clubs or beer bars and spend less but, the go-gos are where the 9s and 10s are. At this point, I believe, going into a Walking Street go-go having the minmum amount of drinks to barifne a 9/10 and a taking her for a short time at my hotel is probably more expensive than doing the same thing (under an hour) in TJ with a super baddie.

I used to go to TJ often. Last trip was in 2022, I believe. I just started to realize how much of a dump Cascadas is. Uncomfortable beds, very few TV stations I can watch, Wifi really doesn;'t work, bad cell signal, loud music, you have to wait forever for the elevator. Has it improved any ???

@Warrior15:

Cascadas has made some significant improvements since your last trip. The rooms have been remodeled, and there are new elevators in both the north and south lobbies. Wifi seems to be better as well. The music is still loud, though, so I try to get a room on the higher floors - there it's not as bad.

^ Thanks @OPIllini96

I'm Eastern Time Zone. So when I go, I'm there for several days. I have thought about getting a room at a nicer hotel, then get a single room for the Arribas . I'm sure I will venture there sometime again in the near future. Hong Kong is just too damn much fun to stay away from.
