TLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting outside a DeKalb County strip club on Saturday morning, according to police.
The incident happened at 1353 Brockett Road, a shopping center in Clarkston home to several businesses — including the adult club Strokers. Clarkston police said Gary Matthews, a man from Lithonia, was celebrating his 31st birthday at the location.
Matthews was one of four people in a car outside the club when two suspects got out of a Jeep and opened fire, according to officers. Police chased the suspects’ car but lost it, and the vehicle was later found abandoned.
Matthews died from his injuries, while another man was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital‘s intensive care unit.
The parking lot remains roped off with crime scene tape as police continue to investigate. Atlanta News First crews at the scene saw a white BMW’s windshield riddled with gunshots and shell casings scattered on the ground.
Police are still looking for the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Feltman by calling (678) 431-1472 or emailing mailto:[email protected].

31 is way too young to go out. Especially on your birthday. Rest in peace to that patron.
