My buddy and I had considered going on the grand opening but after mulling it over, decided to pass. All of these recent opening have featured dancers that were hired just for the openings and were never seen again.
Yesterday I did get a 3rd person report that said they had 5 dancers for the grand opening. Given the results of the past openings and the hood location, I don't think anybody is interested with so many other choices available.
Thank you to everyone. I'm going to visit this club at some point in roughly 6 weeks.
I think the problem is that this the 3rd attempt (correct, Shadowcat?) they have relaunched a Follies club or experience.
The O Atlanta (Formerly another club)
The Onyx
Now Rain (but a total takeover vs a day shift)
If there were other attempts, I don't know of them. I can say that all of the other attempts did have high mileage dancers (or extras). So I think they pick the dancers that I usually like, but can't seem to make a consistent business model.
@ww, I remember that. Thanks. To be fair Vivide has always seemed to be the only club where a Follies experience could still exist (though in a smaller capacity).
@ww
Vivide day shift was started by Steve and Barry Shine with the permission to use the Follies name from the 2 Follies owners. Jimi Brown. Cortney Moon, Dan. Matt and Byron all former employees of Follies did not. Since Vivide made it, they no longer have to use the Follies brand name.
@ ww, but here's the deal, every place the Follies crew takes control of gets better slightly. I have never had a problem getting extras from any of the clubs that got the Follies brand, even temporarily.
They have to be doing something right or have better hiring practices. I realize some women just want to make money any way they can, but there is a general uptick in that type of behavior when the old Follies group is in charge.

No is reviewing it because it’s not worth checking out to review.
You can only pee on people and call it rain so many times.

You pretty much answered you own question. There’s a reason why a club gets no reviews.

I'm going to try it. Its close to Club Blaze which I tried last time I was in ATL. The chick I took out of there is working there.

I wouldn’t even call this “new” place Follies at all.
I’m pretty sure all the Rain signage is still visible outside.

^^^ Other than Vivide, none of the other “Follies” replacements were really that much better with the branding.
I would argue Vivide wasn’t either. Since so many cubana/latina strippers work Vivide, the mileage would’ve been there with or without the branding.
IMHO.

@ ww, I agree with that about Vivide.
