Desires is famous for being a club where girls don't hound you with "wanna dance", which I love.
Lots of girls have regulars that give them enough money over the long haul that they will sit with them for long stretches where they don't appear to be making money. Some of the guys pay them just to sit there though.
If you want a girl, you should talk to her when she's on stage (and tip her well), or any time she's idle. You can also ask the bartender to get her attention. Then tip the bartender. You can ask the guy at the VIP room to summon someone, and if they're available, they usually will. These girls are coin operated, so money talks.
You can obviously approach any girl who is alone or without a guy. Sometimes it's enough to stare and smile at a girl, and she will probably come by as long as you don't stare in a creepy fashion.
The girls are here to make money, and if you have some, don't be shy.
Shame you got a bad dance from Riley, but that's good intel for everyone else to know.
