I heard a rumor on tuscl a few weeks back and verified it with a dancer I know: Sugars was going to close for a while. The date changed a bit, it got pushed back a few times, but I drove by last night and the large video sign out front was off.
According to dancers, an employee bought it, then sought out of town investors. The investors wanted to fly into town and do a remodel. Their dates changed at least once but now it looks like it’s actually closed.
It will be interesting to see what the new space ends up being like… barely fixed up, fancy new inside, air dance club, den of extras, we shall see. I suppose it will be a bar since that’s where most local clubs are heading.
