The shooting happened at about 3:15 a.m. at Temptations Cabaret on Camp Bowie West Boulevard, in west Tarrant County.
A man was asked to leave the club after a fight inside, according to a statement from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Upon leaving, the man fired his gun in the direction of others in the parking lot, wounding three people.
Armed security at the club returned fire, and the suspect died at an area hospital, the news release said. The three people injured are being treated at local hospitals and are expected to survive.
Additional details, including the name of the man killed, were not available Sunday afternoon.
Tarrant County Commissioner Manny Ramirez called for the club’s closure, citing a pattern of criminal activity, including aggravated assaults and drug-related offenses.
Earlier this month, two people were stabbed at Temptations, and in 2018, two men were killed at the club.
In a statement posted to Twitter, Ramirez said he has requested county officials “take all necessary and legal steps” to close Temptations.
“This business has caused damage to our Tarrant County communities for too long,” Ramirez said. “Enough is enough.”
