SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A menacing report at an adult entertainment club in Syracuse led to seizure of two guns and fentanyl this past Tuesday.
On Tuesday, March 7 at approximately 12:35 a.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to Alpine Gentlemen's Club regarding a menacing with a handgun report.
Once the officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the male victim, who stated he entered the bathroom of the establishment and was menaced with a black handgun by a male with a fanny pack around his chest.
The suspect told the victim that he could not use the urinal and had to use the toilet instead. As he was exiting the bathroom, the victim said the suspect pointed a black handgun at his neck and stated he was not afraid to use it. When the victim tried to leave the bathroom, he stated that he ran into another man who also had a firearm on him.
As Officers were interviewing the victim in the parking lot, they observed a male leaving the building. The victim identified him as the male who was outside of the bathroom with a firearm.
Officers approached the suspect, who was standing by a vehicle. They proceeded to perform a pat search on the suspect, identified as Charles Ray Thomas, and found a Springfield Model P9 on the right side of his body. The gun was loaded with multiple rounds.
Officers then went inside the Alpine Gentlemen's Club to search for the suspect who had menaced the victim in the bathroom. An officer observed a man matching the description of the suspect in the kitchen area. As the officer entered the kitchen, he observed the suspect, later identified as Tyrel Rivers, place an object on a top shelf in the kitchen.
Officers placed Davis in handcuffs. They then found a fanny pack on that top shelf area, which matched the description provided by the victim.
When Officers searched the fanny pack, they found a black Taurus PY 840 .40 caliber handgun with 10 live rounds loaded inside. They also found 111 glassine envelopes, along with a clear knotted bag with a brown substance inside. This substance was tested and yielded a positive result for the presence of fentanyl.
A total of 5.1 grams of the substance was found in the fanny pack. A further 2.4 grams of cocaine was also found during the search, with a digital scale, a second cellphone and sandwich baggies.
Rivers was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, menacing in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
