HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a Highland Park strip club parking lot after a 26-year-old woman was struck in the crossfire.
According to officials, police responded to a call around 4 a.m. and were dispatched to The Playground Strip Club off Woodward Avenue and Florence Street.
MSP tweeted that a fight started in the parking lot, and one or more suspects fired gunshots. During the fight, a 26-year-old woman was struck in the crossfire and killed. Officials state that they don’t have any descriptions of the suspect(s).

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (FOX 2) - Michigan State Police investigates an off-duty officer-involved shooting Saturday morning at a Highland Park strip club.
The shooting happened at 6:15 a.m. at Playground After Dark (16549 Woodward Ave) near E McNichols Rd, according to MSP. The shooting involved an off-duty Highland Park Reserve Officer.
MSP says a male suspect was struck and is currently at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has not yet been identified.
With historical roots to both Ford and Chrysler, it’s population boomed to over 50,000 in the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. After WW2, white flight began and the town experienced double digit population declines in each decade. Now the population is around only 8000 people. 95% African American. It has one of the highest crime rates in the nation and it’s has the highest percentage of residents living below the poverty line in the entire country (cities > 5000 ppl).
so on another words, this shooting is just another day in da hood. Feel bad for the female victim caught in the crossfire.
