Club is open but may not stay that way. CLEVELAND, Ohio – A man died and a woman was injured in a shooting Thursday outside a strip club on the city’s West Side, police said. Rayshawn Watkins, 28, of Cleveland, and a 32-year-old woman were shot about 2:30 a.m. at the Million Dollar Club, located on Clark Street near West 44th Street, police said. Watkins suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived to take him to MetroHealth, where he was later pronounced dead. The woman was shot in the arm and was also taken to MetroHealth, police said. An update on her condition was not immediately available Thursday afternoon. Members of the Homicide Unit responded for an investigation. Witnesses told police that a fight began inside of the club and spilled outside. An unknown man began shooting, and Watkins and the woman were shot, police said. No arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 216-623-5464.

Violence is out-of-control - can't go to a strip-club to have a good-time w/o getting into a fight and subsequently getting killed - this soft-on-crime and anti-police BS in many cities is only leading to more corpses - the anti-police rhetoric is causing people to get killed instead of being protected.

I've been in this club a few times in the past and was often in the area but that was all over 2 years ago. It's not a good area and there have been several shootings and murders at the club and in the area through the years. I'm actually surprised that it was open again, even under a different name and possible different ownership after a dancer was murdered there 3.5 years ago when some ass shot through the door. Yeah I'd bet it gets shut down again, maybe forever.

What does this incident have to do with anti-police sentiment ? SMH

The more politicians bash police the more crime there is and the more thugs in the street which increases the chances of this kinda shit happening - soft-on-crime DAs have let a whole bunch of criminals be out in the streets where they would o/w be in jail not committing crimes bc criminals are gonna do criminal-shit - chances are the guy who did this likely has a criminal-record and likely has an illegal-gun since this is common with criminal-element - pro-active-policing helps keep people like this off the streets and subsequently violent-crime and murders go-down, obviously.

It's impossible to link a single incident like this to any kind of position or policy on law enforcement. If anything it's another argument for stronger gun controls.

And it's just as impossible to link this incident to the need for stronger gun controls when there are already literally thousands of gun control laws and criminals are criminals for a reason, they ignore laws. More gun control laws only affect the law abiding people not criminals.

That's the excuse that gun supporters keep repeating. With gun homicides continuing at 10000 - 20000 each year.

No excuse, it's facts, all those gun control laws just impede regular people, in some cases making them criminals if they're unaware of some obscure law that was passed. How about trying actual criminal control, place the blame where it originates.

"... It's impossible to link a single incident like this to any kind of position or policy on law enforcement ..." Having stronger and more proactive police of course does not mean there will be zero-crime nor zero-murders - but the data clearly shows that cities w/ soft-on-crime officials and cities where the local politicians bash the police and even take away funding, those cities have had record-violent crime and that is a fact not an opinion. Look at NYC as an example - murders went down from over 2,000-per-year in the 70s and 80s to under 300 by 2018 = then the defund-the-police stupidity took hold; they took out a billion dollars from the police department, cancelled a subsequent police academy incoming class, took away the crime suppression unit; and now they've gone from under 300-murders to over 500 and trending in the wrong direction - they said minorities were "in danger from the police" yet the minorities have been the ones to pay the price from the actions of the woke politicians and woke activists.

"... they said minorities were "in danger from the police" yet the minorities have been the ones to pay the price from the actions of the woke politicians and woke activists ..." Yeah - the police are horrible - but yet those same people often have security up the wazoo - case in point: "... Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, a Democrat who proposed cutting a huge $80 million from the Chicago Police Department budget in 2020, has a personal police unit consisting of a whopping 71 officers to protect her ... The special unit, named Unit 544, now is comprised of 65 officers, five sergeants and a lieutenant, but that’s not all; “Lightfoot also has a separate personal bodyguard detail, which includes about 20 officers, the records show,” The Sun-Times noted ..." BTW, I don't support the "defund the police" movement and Biden doesn't either. I think it's a fringe element. "I've said it before, the answer is not to defund our police departments, it's to fund our police and give them all the tools they need, training and foundation and partners and protectors that our communities need," Biden said during the announcement of his budget, boasting his proposal "puts more police on the street for community policing, so they get to know the community they're policing," and increases funding for body cams, personnel to fight gun violence and other community programs. Biden is only *now* saying he wants to "fund the police" b/c he's underwater in the polls and the midterms are coming-up and crime-up is at record #s in many cities (same reason he *now* wants to add more oil via the Strategic Oil Reserve but for 6-months b/c "coincidently" that is when the midterm-elections occur). In 2020 gold-ole-Joe was not talking about "funding" the police but "redirecting resources from the police" which is just another way of defunding the police w/o using that word: [view link] It was democrat cities that were defunding and undermining police-departments and Biden as the leader of the democrat party never pushed back on that till now when his polls are dismal and they don't wanna give-up power in November.
