Syracuse, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man was shot in the leg early Wednesday in an apparent drive-by shooting at a strip club on the city’s North Side, Syracuse police said.
The unidentified victim, who is expected to survive, was inside the Alpine Lounge at 401 Butternut St. when the shots were fired, police said.
Investigators learned that the shots were fired from a vehicle passing the club. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
The incident was reported about 2:07 a.m. The victim was taken to Upstate Hospital for treatment, police said.
The investigation is continuing. Police ask anyone with information on the shooting to call them at (315) 442-5222.
This is at least the second shooting at the Alpine this year.
A 28-year-old man was arrested in August and charged after firing into a crowd of about 25 people outside the Alpine in June. On man was hit in the left buttocks.
In that case, Vincent Muolo was involved in a fight with multiple people in the early morning hours of June 13, according to court records. He pulled a handgun and fired at least one shot into the group, according to a criminal complaint filed in Syracuse City Court.
Muolo was charged with felony assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, arrest records show.
There was also a stabbing at the club in June that happened after reports of shots fired.
Shortly after 2 a.m. June 24, police received a report that there were shots fired outside the Alpine just after it closed. No one was shot during an altercation there, but a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach, police said.
