18 Years Away: My Strip Club Experience then and now.

My first trip to a strip club was in 1994. It was Wacko's in Jacksonville, FL. I had no idea what to expect and I brought $50 with me. "Lapdances" were $5, and contact was minimal, but I fell in love with a new hobby. Before long, I became a regular of the club and also spent time checking out other clubs in Jax. I frequented a few, but almost always came back to Wacko's eventually.
Gold Club in the 90's was a revelation for me. I hadn't yet experienced Tampa, and the nude clubs in Jax were strictly no-touch (or at least that was my experience at the time.) Gold Club stood out for two reasons: 1) they were located in a huge former restaurant named Henderson's. The building was huge and located out of sight of Atlantic Blvd. 2) Due to a loophole in city law, they were the first legal topless club in Jacksonville. All of Jacksonville's other establishments were either full nude/no alcohol or bikini bars.
I frequented Gold Club right up until I met my future ex-wife. Once She-Who-Rides-the-Broomstick and I started dating, my SCing days were over. Or so I thought.
Time moved on. My marriage started off on the highest note it would ever have. After the honeymoon, things trended inexorably downward. Long about the time I started to seriously consider divorce, we were expecting a child. I never thought seriously about divorce again. Until I was served.
2015 was a craptacular year for both of us. I lost my job. Her father died. I came home from work one day to find her in the driveway with our van loaded to the ceiling with stuff she wanted to take. She had already brought movers in for the heavy stuff.

Not for three years. In fact, around three years after my own personal Independence Day, I ventured into Scores (now Emporers, again) to check out the SC scene for the first time in the 21st century. I quickly noticed some key differences.
First of all, there were boobs everywhere. Either local law had changed (nope) or things had just gotten much more lax compared to the old days. (yep) Second, contrary to more recent experiences there, Scores/Emporers/Nom du Jour had really solid talent that night. I wasn't there for 10 minutes before an eastern European girl who was easily an 8 or so on my scale came up and sat down by me. We talked a bit and then I went for a dance.
