Why women become strippers

I'm sure it's pointless but I can't help but ask dancers why they became strippers. I've think I've heard all the usual answers. Dancing to pay for college, dancing to buy food for my kids or buy a house, dancing because it pays better than mainstream jobs are probably most common. A few strippers (very few) have said that it's fun, that they like the excitement of watching guys come in their pants and the money is a bonus.

And, there's the reasons we seldom hear but are pretty certain are true for many strippers, stripping to support a drug habit or to support a deadbeat boyfriend/husband. I've heard "I'm a lesbian so who cares". A few have tried to be funny or cute and those are the ones that usually say something about it being only a fantasy. There's one common reason that applies to all strippers and I'll get back to that in a moment but, recently a dancer told me the real reason. She said, "I'm a stripper because it's so hard to meet creepy old men on the internet"
