Rick's Sporting Saloon in New Orleans

Having never been to a strip club in New Orleans for some reason I chose to go to Rick's Sporting Saloon as the first one to visit there. Went last June (2013) which is supposed to be a slow month for Bourbon Street (which for the most part it was).

What actually happened is they have a front part facing Bourbon street that is an actual regular sports bar so at first glance I didn't realize the place I was at was a strip club. I sat down at the sports bar to have a drink or two. Those drinks were actually a good deal because it was 2 for one and the price wasn't that high anyway.

After sitting there for about 20 minutes I came to realize that the back half was a strip club because of the girls going in an out of the back part who it was pretty obvious were strippers. So never having been to one in New Orleans I decided to go in and check it out. Plus there wasn't any cover that night.

The place was actually much better than I thought it was going to be. The place wasn't that big but it had a good mix of customers and strippers at it and was pretty clean. There wasn't way too many strippers hustling you and there wasn't way to many customers taking up all the girls time. It was a good ratio.

Even better was that most of the girls were very good looking, which I found to be the most surprising thing of all as my experience even at the best clubs in Texas is there are usually way more ugly chicks with a few good ones mixed in.

Lap dances were $20 each in the regular area, which from what I saw looked lame, but if you paid $100 for 3 dances you could go to the back area and get much better dances. I paid it for 2 different girls and they were both very high quality/contact dances with very good looking women. One was from Russia who was much nicer and down to earth than most Russian dancers I've met in the past.

Was quoted prices for the upstairs rooms that were absolutely outrageous so I politely declined. I wasn't looking for extras anyway but I got the sense if I was that it could have happened, although probably at way too high of a price.

Drinks were way overpriced but its my understanding its like that at every strip club in New Orleans.

I was in New Orleans two nights and wound up visiting Scores, Ricks Cabaret and Ricks Saloon. I thought Scores sucked as there was basically 25 dudes in there with 2 chicks and it seemed pretty seedy anyway. I left after 20 minutes. Rick's Cabaret was packed and had good looking women, but there was so many dudes in there that I couldn't get a dance from any good ones. Probably for the best as I've since read that dances there are outrageously expensive ($60 each). Both nights I wound up staying at Rick's Saloon and had a great time each night. I would recommend at least checking it out, especially if there's no cover.
