Ways to save in Vegas

When visiting the strip clubs in Vegas, almost all have cover charges. Some are as low as $5, and some as high as $30 or more. If you are there for a few days, and hit two or three clubs, the cover adds up. What I have always done is get a local I.D. It is called a "seasonal ID" there. They have so many people that just live there in the winter, that it is common for people with out of state ID's to get this form of ID. All you need to present the DMV with is A birth certificate, proof of social security number, an address for your long term stay in Vegas, and a current valid I.D. from the state you really live. This will take you about an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less, and costs just $12. The card will last eight years before you have to renew it. It is an investment in your time, no doubt. But it can save you HUNDREDS, if not thousands in the long run. Every club I have gone to has accepted my ID, and gave me whatever local discount they offered. It will also work for golf, many shows on The Strip, and pretty much anything a tourist would buy there. Just ask if they offer "a local's discount." I bought my parents two for one tickets to Celine Dion with mine, and saved about $150 right there. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much this little investment of a few bucks, and a little time can save you.
