Born in Wisconsin grew up in Florida. Lived and worked in all parts of the country. Now retired living near where I grew up in Florida. Moved back to take care of my aging parents. Now that they are gone I just like it here.

Thanks, Amber. I sure wish I still lived in Winston-Salem. I appreciate you doing this interview. Thanks, Muddy, your interviews are always a good read.

When I was in high school there was a drive-in restaurant in town that you went to after going out on a date to the movies. It was one of a kind Had the best burgers a a shrimp sandwich which was wonderful. I have fond memories of the girls I took there. When I came back to town after being in the Navy. The original building was gone and there was an Irish Pub in its place. I was sad, so many memories.

1968. I turned 21. A couple of friends took me to a club with topless go-go dancers. Not sure that counted. 1969 went to a burlesque show at famous local club. Not sure that counted. 1972 went to club in San Diego near where I was stationed in the Navy. Girls stripped to nude on stage. Stage was behind the bar you couldn’t get close to the girls except one girl got off the stage and leaned over the bar to place her boob in my hand. Now that counted. I have been going off and on ever since.

The first time I tried an Islay it was in Bristol UK. It was the house brand of a grocery store chain. I thought I was licking a campfire. But by the time I finished the bottle. (Week or so later). I was really enjoying it. Now I find the smokier the better. I do like variety in my scotch. I have a Balvenie Caribbean Cask at home which is OK but a bit of a gimmick. I do enjoy a sherry cask finish spayside.

@ElDude,
At clubs you are lucky if they have any single malts. Generally, I find they often have one of the common Soeysides such as Glenlivet or Glenfiddich. When I can I enjoy a Smokey Islay or highlands.

I always order single malt Scotch neat. I pay a lot for it, but it’s not watered down and I can enjoy it for a while.

I ate breakfast at Club Risqué. Waitress only wore sneakers. I got a dance from her and she put on shorts.

Good review. I would certainly try the club if I was in the area.

PSD, you keep going to places I have been. Not to places were I am. I keep hoping and dreaming. 😋
