I write it like I mean it, but mostly they just want my money.
The right seems to want to have it both ways on the Middle East. On one hand, they say Biden hasn't supported Israel strongly. At the same time, they seem happy to repeat this ridiculous term "Genocide Joe", implying he hasn't supported the Palestinians enough. This is another issue where I find Biden has had reasonably good judgement for a complex situation, while Trump and the right just can't be taken seriously.

Wow this is beyond your usual spin you're just outright fabricating bs
Also interesting to see gamma wasted $400 because of this thread lol. I thought there was some good discussion here overall, even if nobody changed their mind (I didn't see that as the point or purpose).

Calling out the misinformation on the right should be exactly the "check" you say you want from the left.
I guess it doesn't sound nice using terms like low information and ignorant, but I don't know how to and am not inclined to sugar coat it. Such people exist on both sides of the political divide, and likely in the minority. But it's a bigger factor on the right.

Gamma referenced CNN's fact checking so I posted their actual assessment. Why don't you help us out and point out where their assessment is off ? You won't find any robust fact checking tally on Fox News, I wonder why that is.

CNN reported Trump at 30 lies and Biden at 9. No contest who was bullshitting more.
Trump made more than 30 false claims during CNN’s presidential debate — far more than Biden

PuddyTat according to one poll I saw, I'm in the majority on the left who thought no one won the debate - 45%. Another 40% of Dems thought Biden won. You seem incapable or unwilling to appreciate that not everyone is judging the debate on the same criteria.
There are people who are low information voters, its a fact. Trump has been saying that Biden didn't do anything to bring down the price of insulin, that it was all done by him. This is a ridiculous lie, and yet there are likely some Americans who believe it because they get all their information from Trump and right wing media. I don't see Fox News calling out this lie (that's a strategic ommision on their part). You might call it looking down at them, but people who believe these lies are certainly ignorant. But, that doesn't equate with looking down at the entire working class.
You're just a big spinmeister here, we all see it.

Unless Biden's polling numbers drop significantly in the coming days and weeks, this will just be a speedbump.
As to who won the debate, it all depends on your criteria. Repubs are predictably seizing on the style and presentation to declare victory, and looking to sell this by repeating it over and over. This might work with some voters, in particular low information voters. But if the criteria are character and policy, Biden is still going to come out ahead for many.
This idea that Dems have contempt for the middle class is laughable distortion. I won't disagree that Dems can and should make a better effort to connect with a broader base, and be less insular. I can relate to some of the comments and frustrations about leadership on the left. They can do better. But contempt is not the word, generally speaking.

Here are some numbers for context:
Homicide convictions of illegals in 2023: 29
Homicides involving guns in 2023: 14700
Pretty stark contrast, huh ? And yet Trump is out there holding rallies calling it "Biden's Border Bloodbath" and lying about talking to the victim's family.

@PuddyTat - No, one data point and message will not turn the tide, but cumulatively they can have an impact. Have a look at the latest Fox News poll.
For most Americans this is an issue playing out in the news, not in front of their faces. Your statement is bs. Trump and Republicans are playing political football and attempting a con (just like you) to exaggerate and distort the issue. You will see this countered and exposed in the Dem spending leading up to November.

The gotaway numbers are huge, but with a divided government we need a bipartisan effort to get the funding needed to address the issue, including more border patrols. The only truly bipartisan effort has been the Senate bill, which Trump blocked for his own political gain.
PuddyTat thinks it's too late for messaging, but that's only for folks who have already drunk the Trump kool-aid. The undecided voters in swing states are going to determine the election, and they are going to be reminded that Biden is the guy looking for a bipartisan solution, while Trump and Republicans are just playing political football.

And here's the most effective message that Biden can deliver in the upcoming debate, and he doesn't even have to say it directly.
He just needs to outline the provisions of the bipartisan Senate immigration bill, the bill Trump encouraged his supporters to kill, and put Trump on the spot: "Mr. Trump, will you encourage Congress to pass this bill so we can make real progress on immigration?" And keep repeating and hammering at it when Trump tries to deflect.
Then Americans will once again be reminded of the fact: Trump is a self-serving, self-promoting douchebag who will enable more American murders like the one Muddy posted on, for his own political gain.

>Biden owns this.
And there is the big question.... what is "this"?
Neither side has provided a comprehensive and balanced overview of the issue. So it's been up to the individual voter to do their own research. My general conclusions have been: Biden has done an overall poor job on the issue, Republicans have exaggerated and distorted the issue, and Biden has not effectively countered that. Messaging is absolutely a factor.

@Muddy I think you're still focused on the small picture, a limited set of facts. But I will say that I (and I believe most Dems) do not support illegal immigration and think these crimes are abhorrent and action should be taken to reduce them.
I live in a blue state. I haven't encountered a single incident where an illegal immigrant has caused a problem. I wouldn't even know it's a problem if I didn't read the news. I met one on a rare visit to a low-end go-go bar in Paterson, she showed me video on her cell phone of her walking quickly through Mexico at night, she described it in Spanish as "running with coyotes". That was the only encounter I recall with someone I could confirm was in the country illegally.
I'd like to see a balanced assessment of the pros and cons of immigration, including illegal immigration. I've read the US dairy industry would be crippled without undocumented workers.
Biden has failed on immigration, I've said it before. But it's partly a failure on messaging. If Biden was on his A-game he could rip Trump a new asshole in the upcoming debate, slicing through all the right wing bullshit on immigration and other topics. Not expecting that to happen though.

"I fall down laughing... "
The argument has little to do with the number of media outlets on either side. It's about viewership susceptibility to buy into narratives that are focused on a small set of facts, repeated many times, without applying critical thinking to see the full picture.

Behold the power of right wing media programming. If Fox News and NY Post had only run 10 stories on this topic instead of 10,000 we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
You know there's a reason Trump ran as a Republican, right ?

These things happened when Trump was President too. People don't remember them because right wing media like Fox News barely ran these stories then, but now they run these isolated stories over and over. Nobodygtyu is correct.

I find it plausible that Iran influenced the Hamas attack on Israel at the behest of or at least encouragement of Russia.
Not only does it create a distraction from Ukraine, it helps boost the narrative to influence the 2024 election "Things were great under Trump, no wars, etc. and now look at the world under Biden." Putin knows that a vote for Trump is a vote for Russia.

I assume you're looking to play, not just look. If so, the more efficient approach is to go directly to the massage and escort websites in those countries, do some research, and find a destination with several chicas that meet your criteria. You can probably find at least a few in almost every country. Statistically, Argentina and Paraguay probably have a bit more of what you're looking for. I agree DR is likely tops for Central America.

Somewhat agree with the OP. Appreciate the effort but prefer the prior look and functionality. I liked the photos on the profile page, the quick link panel on the left, and the icons for the clubs and for the members which livened up the appearance (vs. just plain text). I guess wait patiently and see...

OP's comments about the protesters are spot on - sure some of them are anti-Israel, and some even pro-Hamas, but most of them are likely not. And many of those people are probably pissed that the agitators are getting most of the attention and changing the story.
