Come on guys, no mystery here... everything will be reopened in stages as the State Department travel advisory gets lowered.

If you go Friday or Saturday when it's packed, you'll also need "disculpe" (excuse me) and "lo siento" (sorry) :-)

Thanks for the info. I'll defer to tahoecruz and Christobal for the definitive word on this, but yes, in my experience, some of the girls at TB are confined to the bar. My main beef with the place is that I never seem to be able to get my hands on the frisky ones. :-)
I'm curious, because I have yet to stay at Rio: saying you were in room 86 means nothing to me... how are the rooms organized? What floor was it? What would you ask for when you make a reservation or when you show up there? I don't think anyone's ever gone into much detail around this hotel...

I don't say this to be mean, but most if not all of your questions can be answered by clicking the search link in the menu on the right side and searching on 'Tijuana'

Great review... I envy you your Spanish pero estoy aprendiendo. :-)
You make it sound like there's been a jump in the number of Central and South American chicas... is that true or are you just zeroing in on them?

They never tell you what you need to know.
Every tourist destination is pretty much equipped for this, so it's just a matter of planning ahead for it. A lot of resorts have set up onsite testing, and some airlines even have partnerships in place with local labs to make getting an appointment easier and even getting a discount on the test. They want your business back, so they're not going to make it harder than it needs to be. :-)

Good review, as always. I'm a bit discouraged to hear that the smaller bars are dead on a Saturday night because they help keep prices steady and they're a cool part of the overall experience.
On the border, this isn't a secret... yes, they're definitely doing it to discourage casual travel across the border. The advisories are still at Level 4.

The last thing I want to do is give you a false sense of security, but my feeling on this is that you have more to fear stateside. If anything, it's likelier that you might get grief from gringo partyboys than the locals.
That block is one of the safest urban spots I know, and most if not all of the locals know better than to make trouble by attacking a tourist there (and thereby threatening the cash cow) without a good reason.

The best neighborhood that I know from experience is the French Quarter of New Orleans. Property/renting is expensive, but it's worth it IMO.

Anywhere there are Titties.
I follow the traffic. It isn't speed that kills, it's relative speed that kills. If I'm on an empty highway, I've got no problem going well over the speed limit. A lot of long (1000+ mile) road trips have taught me that if I'm in traffic and I have to weave around that traffic all the time, I'll end up a lot more stressed at the end of the day. I still do long road trips because I like driving, but if I want to get there fast I'll fly.
Pretty sure you can still get radar detectors. My current car has adaptive cruise and that works for me... I just set it to 80 and enjoy the ride.

The card price went up early last year, and they reduced the hotel discount at the same time. More recently, they upped the room prices in Cascadas. They sunk a whole lot of money into those renovations...

Interesting point, but the guideline is there mainly because the girls in most SCs face legal trouble if they are outed because of prostitution laws. In this case, what they are doing is fully legal and also represents their primary source of income. To my mind, that makes it more like recommending a good roofer or not recommending a bad one. I'm guessing that the bad roofers in this world don't appreciate being publicly mentioned that way, either, but there's no stigma around that.

Good review, thanks for sharing the info. Curious if the BGs are quoting $100 to you or if they're still trying to go higher to $120... what were they asking to start the negotiation?
@Papi_Chulo: Your comment doesn't apply here -- HK is a legal brothel and all of the BGs are very available for explicit acts with the management's blessing. :-)

I give in to sin because you have to make this life livable
Good stuff, and kudos for your constraint.
Do you actually enjoy the jacuzzi show? Every time I've been at CC when there's a BG in it, all she's doing taking a bath even when she's got customers around her. Probably missing a key aspect of it. :-)

@verizon: When a BG finishes her dances, one of the meseros will escort her around and cajole tips out of the patrons (which you give to the girl. I'm guessing this is so you don't assume she wants a ficha or a trip upstairs. Absolutely no reason not to give her a buck, and they're generally quite appreciative.
@tahoecruz: I think the green-ness of the BGs plays a part in my lack of success. My Spanish is steadily improving, so I'm hoping to finally close the deal there some day. There's enough eye candy on the weekends to keep me trying. ;-)

Agree w/Greenbeans, go to Farmacia Ahorro, it a quick walk and the prices are much cheaper than any of the places nearer to the border.

I'll expand on Warrior's comment... At 7am I'd say three quarters are just waiting to punch the clock, and the other quarter are short of their expectations and still looking to make some money. I met one of my regulars that way, and my promise of breakfast afterwards sealed the deal. I happened to be there on an unlucky night for her and had some of the best sex of my life that morning as a result. :-)
@gammanu95: Hate to get philosophical on you here, but everyone gets worn out from life. What distinguishes us is how well we hide it. ;-)

It probably won't be worth it unless you're there for the end of the night shift or the start of the day shift... the night girls are gone by around 7am and the day girls don't start rolling in until 10am, and even then there will be maybe a half dozen or so in the bar until noon. You'll mostly be watching the meseros and security cleaning the place and stocking the bars, and the other bars on the block will be equally dead.

A few things come to mind...
Sounds unusual and a little odd that a VP position would be 100% remote unless you're talking about a position in a bank... I've seen whole cube farms at bank HQs that were populated with people who had VP in their job title. Being remote will also affect your mobility in the new job because you won't be networking as much or as effectively.
Being remote does have tax advantages as you will be able to make various deductions (e.g., home internet) and be able to justify them.
Personally, I don't like to associate home with work. You can easily end up working more and at odd hours if you don't stay on top of it. I make it a point to completely power down my work laptop by 6pm and I made it clear to both my minions and overlords that if an email doesn't reach me before then it isn't important enough to deal with before the next business day. If you don't have that kind of structure, then you're going to risk burning out.
On the plus side, being remote really does mean your location doesn't matter -- from time to time, you can use that extra money to be working from a resort or a long term rental on a pretty beach with a bucket of beers by your side... :-)
HTH...

If you're crossing at San Ysidro, then probably yes. Technically, it's still supposed to be essential travel only. I would keep an eye on this website in case Baja goes from orange to red: https://datos.covid-19.conacyt.mx/#SemaFE
The vaccine will keep you out of the hospital/morgue, but it won't necessarily keep you from catching (and potentially passing on) Covid... stay safe.
