@mark94: Agreed. I'm interested to see whether the people who run HK think that they can continue to unilaterally set the price levels or whether this represents an opportunity for the other clubs to undercut them and pull their business away. I know for a fact that if CC were to remodel their hotel (Jalos), I would look at staying there as a viable alternative to Cascadas if the price was right.

I think it has more to do with CapEx and OpEx... the owners have sunk significant money into their remodels and the expansion into the east end of TJ. They now run four clubs plus four hotels.

Anywhere there are Titties.
@Papi: Seems like most people understand what happened to the coal workers back in the day... why go back to an "essential" minimum wage job when you know that the people asking you to do it aren't sharing the risk or leading by example? Why did the freaking LA Lakers get millions in free money from the government? Why is there going to be a $500B bailout for big businesses? Is that capitalism or socialism?
Why don't they offer that money as a reward to whoever comes up with scalable testing and a treatment that doesn't involve chuffing Chlorox? Do that and maybe we can ALL go back to what we've been missing...

I'm sending song links from Spotify with a fave of mine, otherwise radio silent. Still some good music coming out, just a lot more slowly than usual.

Anywhere there are Titties.
@BabyDoc: Valid points sir, and I think the ultimate arbiter between the two positions is going to be the development of comprehensive testing and to a lesser extent, what happens in Georgia and Florida with their experiment in reopening. Hopefully, they won't turn out like Hokkaido (sp?), but that's another data point in this discussion.
On the subject of what is vulnerable, the point I think I was trying to make is that we don't know the dividing line in terms of how to assess someone's risk level, and that the vulnerable group may be a significant fraction of people of working age. Based on what I've read, my cohort of old farts has a morbidity rate of around 3%. Put another way, that's like being handed a bowl of 100 M&Ms with the understanding that 3 of them are poisoned and possibly deadly. My answer to that (and opinions vary) is to take a pass. :-)

Agree with Papi... cherry picked info to present one side of the argument. On the other side, you have inconvenient facts like deaths from COVID-19 going from 25k to 50k in the space of a couple of weeks. That doesn't sound harmless.
@BabyDoc: According to CMS, the number of non-elderly Americans with a pre-existing condition is approximately 50%. Of the entire population. Elderly Americans are another 15% or so. Makes the low risk population about 1 in every 3 people, so the most vulnerable people are also the majority of people.
I'm willing to wait for that number to go down. :-)

Correlation is not causation... looking at this from a purely mathematical standpoint doesn't tell us anything. If his "math" could be applied to other outbreaks with the same answers, then that *might* be something. I didn't see any mention of his research being subjected to peer review, so it's hard to judge if this is a real thing or just another attention whore.

In the wind
I've been daydreaming about going back in the fall, but contingent on the situation in TJ, not the state of the border crossing. I have to fly a fair distance to get there already, so for me it's viable to fly to TIJ via MEX instead of flying to SAN...

Something to think about: The testing office (Control Sanitario) closed this past week so no one is getting tested for STDs, let alone COVID-19. Might want to check on that before finalizing a trip...

I admire your approach, but it'll probably only work for people close enough to drive to the border. For those of us who would also need to justify flying as well there's added complications. Add to that the virus risk from flying and it doesn't look worth it to me (YMMV). I have local options that, right now, are safer and easier.
On top of that, Mexico isn't exactly doing a great job on containment and I've read a couple of articles talking about a backlash against gringos because they see them as a transmission risk, justifiably so IMO. I'm content to wait and save my money for a Christobal-style YOLO weekend once the dust settles and we figure out what the new "normal" is. :-)

Agree... getting into Mexico is one thing, getting back into the U.S is a completely different thing.

@kudabra:
I usually travel with a book bag, do they check it in if I don’t have a room? Or should I not bring one as I would stand out as a target.
>>> You can leave it at the desk by the main HK entrance, just tip them a couple of bucks. I have done this regularly and I've never had a bag molested -- it's great if you get there significantly before check-in time at Casdcadas. Chicago Club will also do this, but they're dead early in the day so not really worth the trouble.
Viagra - is there a pharmacy close to hk? What mg dosage do you use? I’ve never used it before.
>>> Farmacias Del Ahorro (https://goo.gl/maps/6QjkcUzztvDRxGVA9). Literally two blocks away, and their prices are great. I would get 25mg or 50mg tablets to start... max daily dose is 100mg, and if (say) 50mg isn't enough you can take additional pills as long as you stay under that recommended max. If you have *any* doubts about taking it, talk to a doctor. The side effects aren't worth the risk. Wannabe-pro tip: One of the normal side effects is a change in blood pressure that for me translates into a mild headache, so I take it with a couple of advil gelcaps and that pretty much solves it.

I can think of three things:
1. For an unpublished review, indicate via icon if the reviewer is verified
2. Ability to sort the clubs in me follows list
3. For a club in a summary view, list the last comment along with the last review

West Coast. He who dies with the most memories wins.
I lived in Las Cruces 30 years ago, and back then Juarez was the place to go to for a party... a couple of clubs would have a fixed entry fee and an open bar. There is a red light district, but even back then it wasn't the safest place to hang around in (I walked past the gruesome tail end of a murder there once), nor were the putas anything to write home about. I fully agree with your friend about going there now -- it was a lot worse a few years ago when the murders topped 5k for a year, but it's still very unsafe now. Choose Life. :-)

^^^ I know one dancer locally who just turned 40, and she's hotter now than when I first met her six years ago.
Ditto for TJ... I have a favorite at Adelita's who looks younger than her college-age daughter and rocks my world. And another at Chicago Club who is her daughter's age and ditto. Vive la difference. :-)
A hot, young hardbody is a delicious thing, but the older dancers know that the brain can be an erogenous zone too.

Does having a new threesome every month makes me a sex addict?
@Vipluvr: Occasionally, but not that often as most BGs there don't typically invest in fancy costumes as far as I've seen.

Makes me wonder if the people who own the club are regretting the current renovations... things may get significantly more expensive down there once the dust clears, at least in terms of room rates, drink prices, etc.

Question for you... My understanding is that La Malquerida is owned by the same people as Adelita's. Do you know if that's true, and whether you can take a girl from Adelita's to the Ibiza Hotel above La Malquerida (and what their policy is for street girls)?

Did desertscrub's mom suck you dry, too?
@JAprufrock: There's two toys that have made the past couple of trips with me, a Pocket Rocket and a generic, medium size rechargable wand. Both are easy to clean and take care of, and both are small enough to slip into a condom if you happen to take up a girl who's a clean freak. The rocket only needs a AA battery and lasts for hours, and you can easily take it into the club with you for some extra fun (the HK door security usually find it when they pat me down, but they've been fine about it every time).
@Generousjohn: You can still get the HPV vaccine if you're over 45, but the effectiveness is lower (but probably still worth getting -- talk to a real doctor about it). It costs a few hundred out of pocket if you're not covered for it and it consists of three shots spaced out over six months so factor that in if you want it before your next trip.

It's there now... might have been a website issue or that new feature that "mutes" some comments. Check for little links between others' comments.
One more thought on the review: I plan at least one of my TJ trips each year within a longer vacation elsewhere in Mexico, and that gives me added motivation and anticipation. Airfares within Mexico are cheap and no different than the cattle cars of the US carriers. :-)
