I wouldn't call them Cubans but there is a Latina look, if you remember back a few years there was a Spanish girl that married a famous band leader named Xavier Cougat, her name was Charo, another example might be Penelope Cruz, while neither of my two examples are Cuban, they are Latina's. I think if you watch Sabado Giagante on either Tele Munde or Univision (Spanish language T.V. stations) you'll see many examples of Caucasian women that do have a Latina look. Remember many Cubans are actually originally from Europe and have ancestors that emigrated to Cuba, actual Cubans that are descendants of the aboriginal people are Taino Indians and there were many slaves that intermarried with these original inhabitants.

You know I’ve always thought about this myself and I’m usually pretty good at spotting white Cubans. Not necessarily but so feel many of them have a certain look in the neck, chin but especially a certain type of nose with sort of pronounced nostrils. I think it looks nice personally. Salsa is one of the more difficult types of dance to learn to do well. If you're dancing is good/elegant, people may assume you grew up dancing Salsa.

As with any attempt to stereotype, there are always exceptions to the rules. The ones I've seen in Florida tend to hang together in groups when they aren't engaged with customers. In one club, I saw about half a dozen sit in a horse shoe booth when they weren't with customers. When they approach, you notice the Spanish accent. They tend to be fairly aggressive in asking for a dance and usually one "I'm not interested" doesn't discourage them from continuing to ask for a private dance.

BTW most Cubans are of mixed African and European descent. It's just the exiles that are white or mostly white. Whites were the ones hurt economically by the Cuban Revolution.

The cubans I went to high school with were the children of the 1950's exodus of Doctors, lawyers, Engineers and they were white. They look more European Spanish. European Spanish are white. In my first year of college I fucked up in lived in a dorm near a pizza place (great fat kid idea), but it was called Mackimmie Humanity House and looked like the left wing of today's Left wing Americans. There was a poster of a bird entitled "same bird - two wings" and one wing was labelled Puerto Rico and the other Cuba. My next door neighbor, a Cuban, hated the sign, so I asked him why. Never forget what he said: "We are nothing alike; Cubans we consider Puerto Ricans to be "N_____s." I was 17 and will never forget.

We have one local club with a lot of Cubans. They come in so many varieties that sometimes it can be hard to distinguish one from a native born gal until she talks. Thankfully they usually prefer to dance to Spanish music, so once I've seen her on stage I know.

Except in S Florida or maybe parts of NJ, I'd be skeptical of any "Cuban majority". People from the Caribbean coast of Colombia and Venezuela can pass as Cuban. Often dancers lie about stuff, and it's not clear to me how it helps their $ or does them any good in any other way.

Skibum's right, Cubans and Puerto Ricans HATE each other, far beyond even the normal rivalries and divisions between Latin countries, even the spiteful divide between island nations and mainlanders. As far as Cuban looks, no, there's no way to tell. Especially when talking about the blackest african Cubans and the whitest Caucasian Cubans. Their anceatry dictates not only their skin tones, but also their facial structure and complection. I've mistaken black Cubans for black Americans, and I've mistaken White Cubans for Eastern Europeans. Yeah it’d be pretty-hard to tell by just looking, and/or just looking at a single-instance – i.e. it’d be hard to tell, just by looking, a Cuban-dancer in a club in Wisconsin for example where she was the only one – but in a club w/ multiple Cuban-dancers, one can often pick them out either by their looks and/or mannerisms but that’s not to say one would be able to pick them out 100% of the time – i.e. in a club known to have Cuban-dancers, one could say “yeah she’s likely a Cuban” even by just looking at her; but in a club where having a Cuban-dancer is rare it’d be much-harder to look at a girl and assume she was Cuban (just by looking at her). Also, a single Cuban dancer in a club would likely not "act Cuban" and would likely try to blend-in to where it'd be harder to tell; but in a club with multiple Cubanas "their Cuban" comes out more.

Mexicans (the poor ones) have the more native ancestry than in most Latin American countries, that seems to be where the female barrel shape comes from. Cubans in the US were the ones whose families who did well while the US controlled Cuba economically, and left when Castro took over. PRs feel like their families left PR because the US doesn't do much to develop PR economically, even thought it's part of the US. Cuban exiles feel like PRs must be lazy cause PR is poor even though it has the advantage of being part of the US.

The Mexican barrel shape comes from bad genes and poor nutrition. It's typically from the more indigenous south of mexico. Cubans have a generic inbred look to their faces in my opinion

I haven't seen many Colombians but the few I have are walking plastic surgery advertisements. They have everything done. But I only know like 3 girls.
